HENRY BYRNE, Pelican, 2021
editie 8 + 1 AP
See-throughs and holes are a common motif in Henry Byrne's work. Both illusionistically and literally his paintings show holes. If he uses huge pieces of tarpaulin, cut-out parts hang half out of the canvas. Things are calmer in his edition 'Pelican'. This is an existing industrial design that he has painted white except for one eye.
On the occasion of Big Art 2021, this special edition will be offered for sale for an introductory price. The inflatable object has been completely painted over with white acrylic paint except for one eye and can be seen at the Hembrug site until Sunday 3 September.
