HandHeld #1
inkjet print, cut open, A4
(all dark grey fields in the image are cut away)
For the exhibition 'Kijker in Beeld' 2011 (curator: Sya van 't Vlie), Karin Arink made a multiple consisting of scans of (sometimes moving) arms. These remained not sold at that moment.
In 2017, from these inkjet prints, she cut hands encompassing the scanned arms. This first series of cut-open prints of scans were sold by RAM galerie during Art Rotterdam 2017.
Since 2017, Karin Arink has been processing all materials and artworks in her studio into new works.
In 2021, for her very first online solo, Karin has cut a small new series of 3 new works from the last inkjet prints of arm scans of 2011. Each cut print is unique.
This is # 1.
The print is cut open, so it is best to frame it with some distance from the background.
