Tribute to and plagiarism of Anna Bella Geiger's 1987 work "A Pão Nosso de Cada Dia", (Our Daily Bread)
The artist says about the work:
"What if we divided the Dutch national gold reserve (about 30 billion worth of gold although its monetary value varies greatly over time) amongst all Dutch residents equally? Last time I calculated it, you could just about spread it on one sandwich (quite richly though, about 5,35 cm3 of gold). But you probably couldn’t eat it. I named the work after the amazing Anna Bella Geiger, in my ongoing series of artworks in which I try to both plagiarize and honor artists I admire."
