“I love this photograph; you can feel the heat and smell the sweat of the venue. The Specials remind me of the comprehensive all boys inner city school I attended in 1980s. The only bands you saw on TV at the time were either all white or all black. When the Specials came along, they had a mixture of black and white members in the band, you could relate to them because they looked like your mates and their music spoke about issues that you could relate to and of course they looked cool!” Matthew Murray 2020
