This series is a study of institutional strategies of display and the viewer’s logical or expected understanding and labeling of objects as result. The sculptures within this series dissect the aesthetic vocabulary of these strategies and highlight their ubiquitous nature by dynamically rearranging their core features and materials. The works intend to activate support systems such as pedestals, and give them a dependent relationship with the objects they hold so as to stimulate an ambiguous and questionable interpretation of these objects as art, artifacts or archaeological objects.
