The much acclaimed two-channel film In Vitro was first shown in Larissa Sansour’s Danish Pavilion at the last Venice Biennale, considered one of the best pavilions of 2019.
The film is staged in Bethlehem decades after an eco-disaster. The dying founder of a subterranean orchard is in dialogue with her young successor, who was born underground and has never seen the town she has to replant. Inherited tauma, exile and collective memory are central themes.
