In Translucent XV, Karen van de Vliet brings together transparency, colour and contrasting textures. Translucent layers reveal and obscure fragments beneath the surface, while vivid orange and yellow lines cut through softer, milky tones. Dark accents and rough, exposed areas give the work a tactile quality. Extending beyond its wooden frame, the composition occupies the space between painting and sculpture and changes subtly as light moves across it.
