Studio Sodalime is a Dutch-based design duo founded in 2021 by Ruud Groeneveld and Carissa ten Tije.
Working at the intersection of design, art, and material research, they have built a body of work that is genuinely difficult to categorise — and all the more compelling for it. Their practice centres on dichroic glass, a material more commonly found in optical and camera lenses, which shifts colour with every change in viewing angle and light. By placing this extraordinary material at the heart of functional yet sculptural objects — mirrors, light objects, furniture — Sodalime transforms the act of looking into something active and participatory.
