This photograph is part of the ongoing Painted Room series, in which temporary spaces are constructed using painted strips of textile. Natural daylight plays an essential role in the work, casting shadows that are unique to the specific location and moment in which the installation is created.
In this work, the process of building, observing, positioning, and photographing is taken a step further. It begins with a simple arrangement, after which the interaction between light and space is continuously monitored. As daylight shifts, elements are repositioned and adjusted, while the camera moves in response to these changes.
The resulting image emerges from a situation in which every aspect remains in motion. Light, space, material, and viewpoint continuously influence one another, making the final outcome impossible to predict until the photographs are reviewed afterwards.
