Auszeit (Time Out) is a mixed media painting by Vera Klaus in which vivid colour moves freely across raw canvas. Spontaneous gestures, drips and translucent paint stains create a lively interplay of pink, yellow, orange and deep violet.
The composition develops through movement and intuition. Larger gestures of colour flow across the surface, while smaller lines, splashes and drawn elements appear in between. Areas of exposed canvas remain visible, allowing the material presence of the surface to remain part of the work.
Within this dynamic field, a sense of pause emerges. Colour gathers and disperses across the canvas, creating a balance between energy and stillness.
