Born in the UK in 1982, Helen Dowling is an artist working primarily in video and photography. Her work is concerned with the relationship between the physical body, it’s environment and how it is perceived, recognised and engaged with. Using editing techniques to make performances that would otherwise be impossible her work exposes both the intention of the work and it’s construction. By creating works that mimic and also go beyond reality her works test the limit and language of the body and the physical world it inhabits.
