Lucebert (1924–1994) was a Dutch poet and painter born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He was a prominent member of the experimental CoBrA movement and became an important figure in postwar Dutch art and literature. His poetry and visual art are generally associated with experimentation, expressive imagery, and a rejection of traditional artistic conventions. Throughout his career, he published numerous collections of poetry and exhibited his paintings internationally. His work has been displayed in major museums and galleries, and he received several literary and artistic awards. Today, Lucebert is widely regarded as one of the most significant figures in twentieth-century Dutch art and literature.
