Capucine Vandebrouck (°1985, lives and works in Strasbourg, France) graduated from the École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs of Strasbourg, the École Nationale Supérieure d'Art of Bourges, and the Marc Bloch Faculty. Vandebrouck's artistic practice focuses on the exploration of natural materials and their transformations over time. She creates installations and sculptures that capture ephemeral moments, often utilizing processes like photograms to record transient states of elements such as water. Her work emphasizes temporality, materiality, and the interplay between light and matter, inviting viewers to contemplate the impermanence inherent in nature.
Her creations have been exhibited in numerous institutions, including the MAMAC in Nice, Kunsthalle Basel, La Grande Place – Musée du Cristal in Saint-Louis-lès-Bitche (in collaboration with the Centre Pompidou Metz), the Synagogue de Delme, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac in Paris, and CRAC Alsace. In 2019, she was awarded the Contemporary Talents Prize by the François Schneider Foundation.
