Greg Girard is a Canadian photographer renowned for his documentary work capturing the social and urban landscapes of some of Asia’s major cities. Born in Vancouver in 1955, he studied photography at the Emily Carr College of Art and Design.
Girard’s early work centered on the urban environment of Vancouver, but in the early 1980s, he began traveling extensively across Asia, photographing cities such as Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Tokyo. Over the years, he has become widely recognized for his evocative and often haunting images that document the dramatic transformations of these rapidly changing urban environments.
