Catherine Thiry was born in Belgium in 1962 and has been painting since 1986. In 2004, she started working with volumes and modelled clay to make bronzes. Sculpture is now an important part of her work. Her original bronzes and sculptures in iron composite, including several monumental works, have been exhibited and appreciated in Belgium as well as in France, the Netherlands, Germany and Monaco, and purchased by collectors and art lovers from all over the world.
Catherine Thiry's sculpture is influenced by her painting. She models the clay with large strokes, like a painter applies paint to the canvas. A unique technique, which gives a special power to her works, which magnify the bronze and iron. In each print you feel the moment of creation.
