The figurative works of the Dutch painter Micha Patiniott are in a class of their own. His oeuvre covers a rich variety of themes, ranging from artistic creation with images of canvases, paintbrushes and pencils to more mysterious and elusive concepts.
Patiniott was a resident artist at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam in the period 2006-2007 and at the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown in the period 2008-2009 and 2023-2024.
He has more international solo and group exhibitions to his name, including at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam.
What makes his works so fascinating is the combination of comic surreality without irony. Patiniott's paintings are more than just visual representations of ideas; they are compelling works of art that stimulate and challenge the viewer's imagination.
