James Aldridge his work is influenced by images from natural history field guides, Renaissance landscapes, 19th century watercolors and heavy metal music. The paintings create a world loaded with iconography and complex interactions. These indifferent languages are pitted against each other, resulting in layered images that invite us to delve into an ever-changing world that continues to reveal itself as we look.

James Aldridge received his bachelor's degree in Fine Art (Painting) from Manchester Metropolitan University (1990-93) and his master's degree in Fine Art (Painting) from the Royal College of Art in London (1993-95). He currently lives and works in Småland, Sweden, in the middle of the woods.
