Rutger Brandt Gallery is proud to present “A New York Story” the third solo exhibition by New York based artist Yigal Ozeri.
This new series of paintings represent a significant evolution in Yigal Ozeri’s artist’s
practice—one of the most dramatic shifts in his approach to painting so far. For the first time in his photorealistic career, the artist uses urban backdrops for his paintings of female subjects, thus expanding on his oeuvre, which has previously featured Pre-Raphaelesque women in nature. He has moved beyond his comfort zone of photographing and painting models in prodigious natural landscapes to painting documentary photography in the chaotic pulse of New York’s urban terrain.
On Saturday May 18, Emily Ansenk, director of the Kunsthal Rotterdam will officially open the show at 5.30pm.
The artist will be present at the opening.
