Jana Coorevits explores the relationship between body, space, and time through a subtle, minimalist approach, where the boundary between the personal and the cosmic blurs. Her work opens a contemplative space in which the act of looking itself takes center stage — an invitation to be present in the moment without the need for interpretation.
“luchtvlak landschap zon, maan” marks a meaningful next step in Jana Coorevits’ artistic development, remaining true to her own rhythm and conditions. Her investigation into how subtle shifts in movement, matter, light, and perception influence one another underscores her search for a (visual) language that resists reduction to straightforward narratives, instead allowing room for association and reinterpretation.
With a special focus on material image production and artisanal techniques, the exhibition results in a poetic exploration of analog photography, revolving around and with the moon.
This time, the exhibition spans a longer period: from February 21 to April 25. In line with the reflective nature of Jana’s research, the extended duration offers visitors the space to experience the work without time pressure and with attentive care.
⸺ On March 6, the new version of Jana’s Matter on its dance through time, together with L'ANCRE by Jen Debauche, will be screened at DeCinema. Prior to the films, Kathy Vanhout and Alex Schuurbiers will provide a brief introduction.
