Art Island 2025 -stand 01 / EdB Projects and Galerie van Gelder
Sometimes it's makeshift in the arts, for example when you want to show art in the office space of Fort IJmuiden. Especially when a sturdy wooden table and a rolling buffet with a company coffee machine in it cannot be removed.
EdB Projects and Galerie van Gelder decided to transform the smallest space of Art Island into an environment where coffee and tea seem to be served, but in essence it is all about the art.
The cardboard coffee machine ‘Panic’ (2025) by Salim Bayri sets the tone of the presentation of two galleries from Amsterdam. A wooden panel with circles by Klaas Kloosterboer suggests something about messy drinks. A plastic bag and boxes by Anne-lise Coste refers to freshly purchased stock for lunch. The paper napkins and sugar sachets by Camila Oliveira Fairclough are part of the decoration of our salon.
Many works are displayed on cardboard trays. The presentation can be seen as a proposal to furnish a coffee and tea room in a relaxed manner.
