David Kloosterboer (2000) has his first solo exhibition at Galerie van Gelder. The title 'Scramble box and pebbles' refers to a work that consists of a box of pebbles, each of which is described with a wish. The visitor can choose a stone at will and throw it into a pond that Kloosterboer has created for this purpose.
The exhibition 'Scramble box and pebbles' consists of work in which sun, beach and water predominate. Expression is given to the desire to set a sunny and optimistic tone. Trying it out and perhaps the work process in general offers unprecedented possibilities, but if everything is possible, can things still go wrong?
As a dark counterpart to Kloosterboer's works in the front room, ghosts in the form of dark shapes come to life in the AP room. Do they want to interfere with what the artist creates in all openness?
David Kloosterboer (2000) studied at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam from 2019-2023. In 2024 he showed work in the exhibition 'Peers and Pairs' at Galerie van Gelder. In the same year he took part in NAP+ in Amsterdam.
