Simone Albers 'Myriad Ways of Being ~ Being of Myriad Ways'
paintings, three dimensional
Simone Albers is fascinated by the evolution of the cosmos and the complexity of existence. In her paintings and three dimensional work she investigates the mechanisms that lie hidden behind the directly observable world. Big and small, what one sees when looking through a telescope or through a microscope. Albers depicts its complexity in colorful landscapes in which eddies of DNA molecules, water, wind, galaxies and black holes evoke the association with movement and infinity. The circles and spiral-like winding shapes in Albers' universe take us along in a cosmic current and captivate us.
Simone Albers (1990) is the winner of the Sieger White Award 2022.
Galerie Maurits van de Laar was asked by the Cultuurfonds to host the exhibition and the presentation of the publication associated with the prize.
The Sieger White Award for painters up to 35 years old from the East of the Netherlands consists of a stipend of € 25.000,-. The winners are given a podium and are invited to reflect on their work. The awarded amount is used for a publication. Since 2012, the Prince Bernhard Cultural Fund has presented the Sieger White Award every two years.
