I am pleased to present my first group exhibition in California, in the heart of the thriving Los Angeles arts scene and coinciding with Frieze Week LA.
Debuting on the 13th of February, the show presents upcoming international artists in the tradition of the new wave of contemporary (post)figurative art and celebrates the exceptionally dynamic culture of Los Angeles.
Artists:
Lotte Keijzer
Bobbi Essers
Mariah Ferrari
Yann Houri
Iseult Perault
Austyn Taylor
Pepi Schikowski
Joseph Munyao Baraka
Originating from different parts of the world, the presented artists came of age outside of the dominant centers of the art world, internalizing the spaces and light of their past and present experiences. Whether in painting or sculpture, each work explores internal dialogues and methods of expression that are observant of what it means to be human in the present day. They challenge the traditional boundaries of their media in search of a new form of expression. Though all artists’ practices differ, they find common ground in their sharp sensibilities and their distinctive eye for color and visual language.
