New works inspired by the nocturnes of Jongkind, Turner and Van Gogh, partly made during her 2022 residency at the Museum Van Gogh House in Zundert, the birth place of Vincent van Gogh.
We were also able to obtain a few paintings for this exhibition which were made during her first residency at the Van Gogh House in 2017.
"Where Van Gogh chose deep ultramarine for his nocturnes, she (Ingrid Simons) chooses the much brighter cobalt blue. As if the full moon shines in a sultry summer night. Even in the dark tones her color palette radiates warmth and optimism."
