Now we give Ciou, pioneer of the contemporary Pop-Art and Lowbrow-Art movement, the microphone:
"I am very thankful to introduce to you this new Popland ’s amazing line up, as this is the second edition of this group show created in 2020 with Hans and Esther from KochxBos Gallery.
Popland is born from the idea of assembling emergent and contemporary artists from the Neo-Pop or Neo-Popsurrealism scene from Japan, USA, France and more. Neo-Pop is a broad term that refers to a style that has been influenced by Pop Art.
The first wave of Neo-Pop Art emerged in the 1980’s as a reaction to Minimalism and Conceptualism art. They state that art must be close of people, that’s why those highly skilled artists use narrative art and pop culture to question reality.
For example Takashi Murakami is described as the first of the Japanese Neo-Pop artist. The Neo-Pop culture is associated to manga and anime, character design, otaku or geek culture, but most of it all... the Pop Culture.
With Popland we are supporting this new generation of artists.
Enjoy the new Popland Expo!
