This year, instead of closing down for the summer we decided to stay open and to prolong the presentation of Margaret Lansink that was on show for the Snd Hazenstraat Biennale. We kept all Margaret’s collages and collotypes on view and accompanied them with a presentation of the selected works from Miho Kajioka.
The bridging link between the two artists is the poetry of their intuitive, personal imagery that addresses the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi. Wabi roughly means ‘the elegant beauty of humble simplicity’, while Sabi stands for ‘the passing of time and subsequent deterioration’ - both of the two elements are to be found in the duo presentation of Lansink & Kajioka.
