Just a little while longer and Art Antwerp 2021 will be opening its doors for the first time. The preview and opening (for invitees only) will take place on Thursday 16 December and from Friday 17 December to Sunday 19 December, anyone with a valid admission ticket – and in compliance with all Covid-19 measures – can enjoy a vibrant fair programme and combination of nearly 300 up-and-coming and established artists from around the world.
It is not surprising that a contemporary art fair is being organised in Antwerp. After all, Antwerp has been the most important city in Belgium for many years when it comes to contemporary art – thanks to its relatively large number of high-quality and internationally oriented galleries and lively Flemish collection culture that is the envy of many a country.
Art Antwerp 2021 is a small-scale yet highly ambitious international art fair for established names and up-and-coming talent. Although already known as a creative city, this fair will further solidify Antwerp’s reputation as the leading art and fashion city of Northern Europe. Of the 57 galleries participating in the fair (by invitation only), 37 are from Belgium – including 13 from Antwerp – while the other 20 are from abroad. A welcoming and intimate ambiance combined with high professional level of participating galleries can be expected as a result of the involvement of the same organisation behind Art Brussels, so success is guaranteed!
