Until 22 December 2023, Galerie Ramakers in The Hague is presenting a group exhibition, featuring the works of ten artists from the gallery's roster: Babs Haenen, Cor van Dijk, Guido Geelen, Warffemius, Ossip, Ton van Kints, Johan de Wit, Ossip, Ien Lucas and Bob Bonies. This exhibition offers an exciting showcase in which ten unique visions and methodologies engage in a dialogue.
The exhibition features a combination of abstract and figurative works. Among them, you will delicate sculptures by the Dutch artist Ossip, who recently received the BRUTUS Prize 2023. Read more about the work of this artist here.

A notable piece in the exhibition is Guido Geelen's contemporary interpretation of a classic Dutch tulip vase. The Delft Blue ceramic tiles depict maritime scenes reminiscent of the seventeenth century, an era of significant economic prosperity. However, this historical prosperity came with a downside for those who paid the price for such wealth. The vase invites us to reflect on our complex history of trade and expansion, and its impact. Interestingly, the vase's shape also resembles a ship. The living flowers boldly and cheerfully protruding from the vase create a striking contrast with the somewhat static past.

Galerie Ramakers also presents ultra-abstract works by Bob Bonies and Cor van Dijk. Bonies' practice is defined by self-imposed restrictions in terms of colour and visual expression. Since the 1960s, he has adhered to a strict palette comprising geometric shapes and a limited number of colours: the primary colours, supplemented with green and white. Van Dijk creates sleek, geometric steel sculptures, preserving the raw texture of the mill scale. His meticulous process is intensive and demands exact precision; every millimeter of the design is predetermined and irreversible.

The exhibition also features ceramics by Babs Haenen, who recently received a favourable review in the Dutch NRC newspaper. Currently, Haenen's work is on display in a small-scale exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Den Haag. NRC journalist Roelie Fopma noted in the review that Haenen's work deserved a more prominent and extensive place in the museum, considering its quality and impact. Haenen's works are included in the collections of the V&A in London, the Metropolitan Museum in New York and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
