For Art Rotterdam 2020 we show a series of sculptures and 3d scanned objects by Cihad Caner (TR, 1990).
The work, which is a selection of Caner’s most recent projects, focuses on the politics of image by questioning its mainstream making methods that generate dialogues for and around socio-political subjects. It investigates on how the utilization of common quotidian or domestic objects - plastic bottles, mobile phones, the internet, car tires, umbrellas, carpets - has been redesigned, translated, transformed and brought to exist in different contexts of civil resistance.
