No Title #1 (Conversation Piece), 2017

In this work she further develops into a representation of almost musical experiences of visual minimal compositions that she displays. There, struggle and resistance have merged into surrender and harmony. The making of drawings results in the repetitive placement of dashes in coherent patterns that can be read as scores and therefore also produce a rhythm and sound. The method is a real donkey work and so precise that making a single mistake spoils the entire drawing and she has to start all over again. "Pencil, not an eraser," she tells herself. Erasing a mistake is not an option. The repetition within her work is not a method of doing the same thing all the time, but rather a way to gradually introduce a variation within fixed patterns that causes other possibilities so that new drawings can be made again.
