The inspiration behind the series of sculptures were vessels used to store water or food. Apart from the classical shapes of ceramic vases, other forms that one could find among the sculptures were that of oil canisters. In poorer parts of the world, people often use whatever they find at the roadside to store food and water which they have to carry from further and further afield. Devoid of brand stickers, plastic products of the industry that often exploits priceless water reveal their decorative shape and begin to resemble ceramics manufactured by primitive peoples. At the Łaźnia CCA exhibition, sculptures were placed on a pedestal and illuminated. This method brought to mind ethnographic museums. Ceramics is often the only remnant of old civilizations. The artist recreated the shapes of these vessels by weaving them out of paper string in a process that resembles traditional pottery. The Watering Hole touched upon the issues of migration and the flow of people.
