LILY VAN DER STOKKER, Here it is, ca 1993.
Lily van der Stokker has built up an extensive and unique oeuvre with her drawings and monumental wall paintings. These refer to private thoughts, friendship, kindness and to non-arty activities such as cleaning, making lists of curators, and doctor visits.
The texts in her works are private thoughts of the kind not often expressed in art, such as “Kees [gallerist] and I [artist] always fight about VAT” and "Transfer that money to me.” Or as in the sober drawing 'Here it is' as a rather brief reference to something that we can not see.
