Soleil de minuit (midnight sun) was produced in the frame of a cultural exchange between the Region of Brussels and the City of Montreal. Given by Brussels and the Belgian State for the 50 years of the metropolitan network and the 375th anniversary of the City, it is a monumental installa- tion of 14 glass mozaics in the metro station Place-d’Armes. On June 21st, 2015, when it was midnight in Montreal, I measured in Brussels the rst rays of the rising sun with a spectrophotometer. Using Antique glass, LEDs and algo- rithms, I designed 14 glass panels that reproduce the intense colours of this natural phenomenon. Before being exported to Canada, Soleil de minuit was produced in Belgium in collaboration with the studio Debongnie in Wallonia.
