Sideway Scenery I
This installation contains three contradictory and at the same time complementary elements. The hares in winter fur seem to make a last leap. The text Motel, Money, Murder, Madness in handwriting by novelist AFTh. Van der Heijden, shown in publicity red, has a suspect personal touch. Teasing as a brothel’s signboard. Or is it just a song on the radio dreamt in neon? Is this a quote from L.A. Woman by the Doors? And is this song about definite parting and is this one line a hint of insanity? And the geometer’s stick, more powerful then Mozes’ staff, more powerful then all philosophers? The staff of road constructors, the absolute occupation, the all devouring progress?
