During the final years of her education at the Royal Academy for the arts in The Hague she became fascinated with the monumental entrance piece 'Porta del Paradiso' by Lorenzo Ghilberti (1378-1455). These doors of the baptisery in Florence have 10 bronze panels, each portrayed with an episode from stories from the Old Testament. After applying wax to the Ghiberti panels, Nynke Koster made a rubber mold, which she subsequently cast and lathered. One of these panels in on view here, in fluorescent colors.
